Year's end reflection - can't believe its been 3 years already since we purchased our little farm

We were pretty naïve on the amount of money, sweat and time that building a small homestead would entail but I can say looking back now, that it was well worth it. Our flock has grown over the years and we have learned so much. I understand now why You-tube videos show professional homesteaders more often than newbies. You don't have the time to do You-tube in addition to working on building everything. We have only built up about 4 acres of the 20 but it is finally starting to feel like a farm. It hasn't been easy sailing though. We have learned some hard lessons and lost some animals along the way due to our lack of experience. Every day is a new adventure and a new challenge. No one said it would be easy but it has certainly been fun. Next step is to build our homes on the property so we can all live with our flock full time. We hope to capture that journey with videos along the way so you can laugh along with us. Our goal is to open the farm to visitors in 2022. Fingers crossed! These new family members eat alot! They need to start paying rent like the human kids. Enjoy hearing from our friends and supporters. Keep those encouraging emails coming.
